Seoul, Korea, March, 10th - It was announced on the 10th that LS-VINA Cable (President: Seung-Chan Lee), a Vietnamese branch of LS Cable (Chairman & CEO: Christopher Koo), received class 2 Labor Medal from the Vietnamese Government and Golden Dragon Award from Vietnam Economic Times.
LS-VINA Cable won the class 2 Labor Medal with its continuous contributions recognized toward economic development of Vietnam over the last 5 years since having receiving the class 3 Labor Medal in 2005. In addition, LS-VINA Cable has been selected as the winner of Golden Dragon Award presented to outstanding foreign invested companies for 5 consecutive years since 2006. As such, LS-VINA Cable became the most loved foreign company in Vietnam.
LS Cable established LS-VINA Cable in 1996 in Haiphong and embarked upon entry into the Vietnamese market in full scale. Currently, LS-VINA Cable has 2 offices, one of which is in Ho Chi Minh City, with approximately 700 employees that are recording high growth rates each year. LS-VINA Cable is independently producing and supplying power cable, communication UTP cable and control cable, which had not been produced domestically in Vietnam. Also, the products are being exported to Australia, Singapore and the Middle East. Having recorded $280 million in sales in 2010, LS-VINA Cable is contributing to economic development and employment activation in Vietnam. LS-VINA Cable has been receiving awards from the Vietnamese government for meritorious services in export for 5 consecutive years since 2005.
LS Cable’s Chairman & CEO Christopher Koo was appointed as the Honorary Consul of Vietnam in May 2010 and has since been performing as a ‘civil diplomat’ to achieve economic development based on cultural exchange and goodwill between Korea and Vietnam. Moreover, LS Cable sent a voluntary service team consisting of college students in 2008 and 2010 in order to fulfill its role in promoting civil interchange. In 2010, especially, LS Group supported the activities of medical service for children in Ho Chi Minh City, setting up sisterhood relationship with local college students, improving educational environments in Vietnam and organizing local cultural experience events.
