Seoul, Korea, March, 29th - As reported on the 29th, LS Cable & System (Chairman & CEO: Christopher Koo) is now beginning to actively target the industrial material market as part of its broader next-generation growth engine strategy with the unveiling of its new brand identity and showcasing of a variety of innovative and special purpose products including ‘GREENFLOR’, PRUGOTEX, a high-density, high-tech carpet tile, SOFTRONG, a leading eco-friendly flooring product, SAFEPLAN, an anti-bacterial rubber flooring product, SPOFLEX, Korea’s only flooring product for sports applications, SAFEMARINE, a special flooring product for ships, and SAFEGUARD, a rubber flooring product for automobiles. In addition, LS Cable & System will introduce a line of inter-floor sound insulation and vibration absorption materials for wind power generators.
The new brand identity (BI) was designed with green symbolizing eco-friendliness and blue symbolizing stability. The harmony of the two colors conveys LS Cable & System’s will to supply customers with diverse high-functionality flooring products.
LS Cable & System unveiled the new BI at the Domotex China Floortech held in Shanghai from the 22nd to the 24th. LS Cable & System’s booth was very popular, attracting approximately 2,000 visitors. In addition, according to an LS Cable & System official, around 40 industry insiders were invited to a separate customer presentation where interest in their products was exceptionally high.
LS Cable & System plans to increase its global market share by continuing with customized marketing activities, such as organizing events where domestic and international customers are specially invited, making product presentations in major market bases abroad and participating in specialized international exhibitions. LS Cable & System’s Materials Division Director Chung-Je Jin said, “We will be No. 1 in the global flooring market by launching highly functional eco-friendly products and actively targeting new markets abroad.”
Since entry into the commercial flooring market in 1994 based on its chemical compounding technology obtained from the cable manufacturing process, LS Cable & System has been supplying products for airports, subway trains, ships and sports stadiums not only domestically, but also to a number of Asian countries, such as China, Taiwan and Singapore. In addition, LS Cable & System delivered products for application at the Incheon International Airport, KTX and Subway Line 4.
In 2009, LS Cable & System first launched a washable flocking carpet that, with a density 10 times higher than general carpet products, prevents infiltration of pollutants and propagation of bacteria and mites. In 2010, LS Cable & System signed a contract with Metroflor of the U.S. to supply flooring products and flocking carpets worth about KRW 51 billion, the largest such contract for a Korean company. The excellent quality of LS Cable & System’s products is being recognized world-over with 5 types of SOFTRONG, the eco-friendly rubber flooring that was awarded the ‘Eco Mark’ from the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI).
