■ LS Cable’s FTTH competency will gain greater international recognition
Seoul, Korea, August 12, 2008 - LS Cable announced that Dr. Euidon Park, head of the NI (Network Integration) Team of the Communication Division of LS Cable (CEO Christopher Koo), was named vice-president at the general meeting of the ‘FTTH (Fiber to the Home) Council Asia-Pacific’ recently held in Malaysia.
Dr. Park has been in charge of new business development in telecommunication, such as optical cables and optical communication devices since he joined LS Cable 20 years ago, and continued to engage in activities related to new technology on the international stage; e.g. he is a founding member and standing committee member of the FTTH Council Asia-Pacific.
The ‘FTTH Council International’ was established in 2004 for the development of the FTTH industry, such as promotion of the FTTH market, announcement of new technology, technical standardization, deliberation on regulatory policies and development of new FTTH-based business models, and has three regional councils: North American, European and Asia-Pacific.
Global enterprises in optical communication, such as Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, and Nokia Siemens Networks, communication service providers, government agencies and private research institutions are competitively taking an active part in the FTTH Council Asia-Pacific to strengthen their position in FTTH business development in the emerging Asia-Pacific region.
LS Cable successfully completed the FTTH network implementation project for the Ministry of Communication of Kuwait last February. LS Cable is concentrating its energy on cultivating the FTTH business as the next growth engine in the communications sector, and the appointment of Dr. Euidon Park as vice-president is expected to reinforce its FTTH competency across the globe.
