■ An opportunity to accelerate global marketing with more than 50 million US$ sales turnover in 2012

Casco, a company specializing in casting production in LS Group, invested a total of US$20 million starting the state-of-the-art foundry construction in Dalian, Liaoning in China on December 9. It made an opportunity for them to expand global marketing in full scale.

The Dalian factory of Casco is equipped with state-of-the-art technology facility enabling to produce about 30,000 tons capacity castings in 66,000m2 site. They plan to start operation by 2008 targeting the Chinese market where machinery and shipbuilding industries are rapidly growing. In this factory, general-purpose casting products will be mainly produced and all products will be sold in Chinese market including local companies of LS Cable and Doosan Engine. 

Casco’s Dalian factory plans to achieve more than US$5 million turnover in 2008 and US$50 million by 2012. Chayol Koo, LS Cable Vice-President attended a groundbreaking ceremony, emphasized that their Dalian factory construction will provide Casco with an opportunity to supply proven products to the global companies as well as their affiliate companies.” 

* Casco: Company jointly invested by LS Cable (50%), Samyang Heavy Machinery (37.7%) and Doosan Engine (12.3%).
* Castings: Melted metal is put into a mold, harden and metal products of desired shape are produced.
