LS-Nikko Copper (Vice-President Chamyung Koo) led the celebration of its 70th anniversary at Grand Intercontinental Hotel, in Samsung-dong, Seoul on October 30. In this event, about 400 customers from both domestic and overseas were invited.
After having stated its business as Janghang Refinery in 1936, LS-Nikko Copper has led the non-metal industry in Korea. As a unique copper refinery company in Korea, they achieved 7.6 million US$ of ordinary income in 1996, and has grown to become a company achieving 207.3 million US$ in 2005.
LS-Nikko Copper imports from the South American region including Chile, etc., providing refinery work and 570,000 tons of electric copper every year. They are second largest in the world.
In the ceremony, Vice-President Chamyung Koo announced his willingness 『To lead the global era with innovation and change not fearing challenge nor failure』. To celebrate the 70th anniversary, he also added that 『Based on the management philosophy of “Always with Our Customers”, we will grow as an enterprise providing the best value to our customers and contributing to the global society』.
Vice-President Koo announced his willingness to become a Global Major Player in the copper refinery industry in 2015. To do this, they will improve profit for the existing Onsan Refinery, develop comprehensive recycling business, proceed with overseas business, and reinforce R&D.
