With the introduction of ‘Xway, Hi-pass on-board unit, LS Industrial Systems (CEO: Cha-Kyun Koo, www.lsis.biz), announces their official launch into the consumer industry.
With the Korea Expressway Corporation’s approval in March, they introduced their product at the end of April and officially entered the market in June.
LS Industrial Systems has, so far, focused all their business sectors only on industrial products such as solutions on electric power and automation, road traffic systems, solar power, RFID, and electric power semiconductors. This is their first time to launch consumer products.
According to an LS Industrial Systems insider, “Since LS Industrial Systems has continued its business of expressway tollgate system; its technology has already been approved.” He further expressed confidence saying that “If the technically stable Xway is introduced, on-board unit market will be reorganized.”
Xway, LS Industrial Systems’ Hi-pass on-board unit is featured to select both the function and design.
The main feature of this product is design. Like mobile phones, users can choose from 4 colors – black, red, silver and blue. With slim design, it targets the younger generation. Some products allowed users to select various colors, but the model introduced by LS Industrial System is unique with its vivid color and fancy design.
LCD screen and speakers are used to guide users with text and voice as well. It also provides three effect sounds and guide narration in 18 voices.
One of the features of Xway is its ability to search 100 toll fee payment histories at maximum and accumulated sum amount.
With the introduction of Xway, LS Industrial Systems expects to secure various business sectors and promote LS as a brand as well.
The Hi-pass on-board unit market is expected to generate an income of about Won100 billion and LS Industrial Systems anticipates it to reach about Won15 billion this year.
