■ LS Group campus recruiting: Visiting Korea University and Yonsei University on September 25 and 27
■ “The top talent is the person who has convergence and global capabilities and infectious positive thinking”
At the LS Group campus recruiting campaign event, LSIS Vice Chairman and CEO Koo Ja-kyun delivered a special lecture. He talked about an ideal talent.
As a part of the LS Group campus recruiting campaign lasting throughout the month of September, Vice Chairman Koo delivered lectures to students at Korea University and Yonsei University on September 25 and 27, respectively.
On September 25, at Korea University Han Square Auditorium, he defined the ideal talent as talent with convergence capability, talent with global capability, and talent with infectious positive thinking.
Vice Chairman Koo proclaimed, “In the era of convergence of different industries, students of the humanities should understand technology, and students of engineering should also know the humanities to secure competitiveness. Imagineer is a combined word of imagine and engineer. You should become Imagineers that create completely new concepts, totally different from the past by converging different fields.”
As for global capabilities, he said, “You should not think of only English as an essential requirement, but should try to master as many languages as possible. A true talent is one who not only masters the foreign language of the relevant country but also fosters the whole of its culture including etiquette.”
Citing this Pygmalion Effect, he explained, “If you expect positive things from others, they will perform a corresponding act to such expectations and eventually the expected result will happen. When I select talented people, I look for those who have an infectious positive-thinking. As CEO, I am the happiest when I can work together with such talents.”
Citing Pastor Joel Osteen’s bestseller Your Best Life Now, Koo stated, “What you embrace in your heart will come true, so the way of positive-thinking alone will accomplish your success halfway. If you change your paradigm of thinking from “I cannot do because…” into “Despite…I did it,” you will change your life.”
LS Group Campus recruiting campaigns were conducted at 13 universities from September 3 to 27. Final successful applicants will be announced on December 7.
