■ To develop creative human resources for new global businesses
■ Public figures invited to give lectures including Dr. Shihyeong Lee and CEO Seongo Kim
■ Will focus on developing integrated human resources with literary, historical and philosophical attainments
Seoul, Korea, December, 19th - On the 19th, LS Cable & System (Chairman and CEO: Christopher Koo), as part of the LS Creativity School, jointly promoted along with the Creative School of Korea, offered a lecture given by Haeseung Jeong (a cultural contents planner) to analyze success factors of Hallyu (the Korean Wave) contents that are taking the world by storm. The lecture was titled, “The Adventurers of Killer Contents” and was given in the auditorium located in the basement of LS Tower in Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Having recognized the necessity of a creative organizational culture for fulfilling its vision for the future, LS Cable & System founded the LS Creative School for the purpose of developing integrated human resources capable of promoting new global businesses. Over the years, the LS Creative School has invited public figures from various fields, such as Beollae Kim, an artistic sound designer, Dr. Shihyeong Lee from the Korea Natural Medicine Institute, Jinmo Lim, a music critic, and CEO Seongo Kim of Mega Study, to present lectures under a wide range of subjects including the arts, spiritual pursuits and leadership. This is the fifth lecture and it is winning high responses from employees not only of LS Cable & System, but also of LSIS and LS Mtron located in the same LS Tower.
LS Cable & System is famous for developing “soft power” activities with an emphasis placed on creativity and cultural sensitivity. The “reading management,” which President Jongho Son uses as a means to directly communicate with employees, was objectively recognized for its effectiveness as it recorded 3.4 points, higher than the average 3 points, in the “creative reading index” assessed by the Reading Research Institute of the Kyobo Book Center. In addition, LS Cable & System has installed a creative space in the data room on the 13th floor of the head office building. This space is popular among employees as it offers a variety of books, DVD players, netbooks and game consoles, --all of which the employees freely use to recharge their energy. At the same time, LS Cable & System is actively supporting employees’ cultural and art activities. Moreover, as the first in the cable industry, LS Cable & System has been producing calendars each year using photos taken by employees that were selected through an internal photo contest. At the beginning of this year, LS Cable & System drew attention by organizing a contest for UCC with the contents of employees’ club activities.
Managing Director Wonhyeong Ahn of LS Cable & System’s Business Support Division said, “As global market entry is accelerated and hybridization between industries is spreading, the importance of humanities studies is being highlighted among B2B companies.” He added, “We will implement diverse strategies to develop human resources that are equipped with humanities knowledge represented by literature, history and philosophy.”
