■ Selected as the No.1 item in KS-QEI
■ Rated as a top-notch item in terms of performance, conformity, reliability, service, product image, etc.
The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) inverter, LSIS’s representative item in automation products, was selected as a top-notch quality product in the country.
The selection was announced at the 2013 Korean Standard - Quality Excellence Index (KS-QEI) certification event held on September 11 at the Grand Ballroom of the Ritz Carlton Seoul and hosted by the Korean Standards Association (KSA).
As an annual event first held in 2005, the KS-QEI index is said to be the country’s only index concerning customers’ level of satisfaction and the excellence of product quality.
In addition to LSIS, which was ranked No. 1 in PLC, 28 other businesses including Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, KCC, KEPCO, KPS, Hankook Tire, etc., were also selected as No.1 in 47 items.
PLC is a digital computer used for the automation of electromechanical processes, such as control of machinery on factory assembly lines, amusement rides, or light fixtures. LSIS became the country’s first company to succeed in the development and production of PLC on its own.
An inverter is a device used to control a motor’s revolving speed by changing the voltage and frequency. It helps reduce energy loss by adjusting the revolving speed of machines at optimal level under a given production facility.
“LSIS’s PLC and inverter garnered better scores than those of other businesses in terms of performance, conformity, reliability, service, product image, etc., in a survey conducted among consumers and experts,” KSA said.
As the leader in the domestic industrial automation sector, LSIS provides an array of solutions based on technology accumulated for decades. KSA’s selection of LSIS’s PLC and inverter as the No.1 items cemented their status as competitive items.
Last summer when the country went through a near-crisis situation due to insufficient reserve capacity, the effect of power use reduction by an inverter drew particular attention. Thus, the government made it mandatory for public institutions to use highly efficient inverters and encouraged private businesses to install them by offering to pay part of the price as well as tax incentive.
“It is particularly welcome news at a time when the competition with foreign rivals is getting fiercer and the economy remains weak. I feel deeply indebted to the customers who selected our product as the best item. We will do our best to expand the use of PLC and inverter throughout industrial sites and enhance product competitiveness, including higher level of user convenience,” said LSIS managing director Kwon Bong-hyeon in reaction to news of the company’s PLC and inverter ranking no. 1.
