■ Incheon Container Terminal holds opening ceremony and starts full-scale logistics business

A ground-breaking ceremony of the Incheon Container Terminal will be held at the construction site located in Hang-dong, Chung-gu, Incheon-si on the afternoon of February 1.

E1, a national company specializing in LPG in Korea, decided to proceed with the container terminal project utilizing their own non-operating land which was used as a site distributing LPG. It is to respond to the lack of harbor facilities in the area and the increasing trade with China and the development strategy of the country leaping into a key position in logistics in the Northeast Asia region. 

Incheon Container Terminal will consist of one multi-purpose harbor facility with 30,000tons of capacity and ground facilities including container yard a state-of-the-art loading and unloading facilities. Its annual capacity is 230,000 – 300,000 20ft containers.  

A person from E1 said that “Backed by the container terminal business, they will fulfill their role as the major social overhead capital to contribute for the economic development of the country as well as the local economy of Incheon developing as the key position of Northeast Asia logistics.
