December 11, Yichang, China - LS Cable held a ceremony to commemorate the founding of LS HongQi Cable along with LS Cable President Jong-ho Son, LS HongQi Cable President Seon-guk Kim, officers and employees of LS HongQi Cable in Yichang, China,.
Following the declaration of the founding of LS HongQi Cable, Chairman Koo and President Son of LS Cable gave congratulatory speeches. Then, the newly appointed president Seon-guk Kim of LS HongQi Cable gave the inaugural address. The award ceremony for employees with outstanding PMI activities was followed. The program for the event also included a congratulatory performance such as traditional Chinese song, dance and mask play.
In his congratulatory speech, Chairman Koo said, “I am very glad that LS HongQi Cable with its 40-year history has become a part of the LS Cable family. I hope LS HongQi Cable will be a respected company that contributes to the local community while making the best effort to be the No. 1 cable company in China within the next few years.”
Following Chairman Koo, President Son mentioned in his speech, “I hope you will work together with a sense of pride in being a member of the LS Cable family, a company of international standard.” He promised, “Through continuous investment, we will actively support LS HongQi Cable to become a core unit for LS Cable’s business in China.”
In September, LS Cable acquired a 75.14% stake of LS HongQi Cable, an electric cable manufacturer, with an investment of 109 million RMB (approx. US$1,600 million) from the Yongding Group of China.
By supplementing facilities and infrastructure, LS Cable will develop LS HongQi Cable as a major electric cable company in China by extensively attacking the electric cable, special industrial cable and device cable markets. LS Cable is anticipating that, together with the customer network of LS HongQi Cable, its own extensive portfolio of products, technological expertise, global sales network, sales corporation in China, will produce great synergies.
With the founding of LS HongQi Cable, LS Cable’s global network has now grown to comprise 60 units of 19 subsidiaries in 23 countries employing approximately 10,000 employees.
