LS Metal held a board of trustees meeting on April 1, and appointed Han Jai-hoon, who served as LS Industrial Systems’ Vice President, as President.
LS Metal is a new concern that was launched on April 1 through spin-off of LSIS’ metal business.
Han, who graduated from Shinheung High School in Jeonju and majored in statistics at Korea University, served as the chief of the management evaluation office at then LG Industrial Systems in 1992, managing director for finance management at LGIS in 2000, and senior executive director and CFO in 2005.
After LG Industrials Systems changed its name to LSIS through a split from LG Group in March 2005, Han served as the head of the business assistance office, and CFO/Vice President at LSIS.
Han built up diverse experience not only in the traditional finance field, including financing and accounting but also in IT and management evaluation, while working with LSIS. As such, he is considered a finance expert, who also holds strong competence in management strategy.
Han has earned nickname “Magician of finance management.” He spearheaded the restructuring of LSIS’ financial structure in 2000, when the company financially struggled with a debt ratio of nearly 4,000 percent, and played a major role in transforming the firm into a sound enterprise with a debt ratio of 98 percent last year.
Han is recognized as a key player in LSIS’ finance management, who successfully constructed ERP Financial Module by banking on his experience as official in charge of information and strategy, and completed an innovative finance management system that emphasizes efficiency, accuracy and reasonability by overcoming conservative finance management administration through integrated operation of the finance management sector.
In addition to CFO, Han served as the head of business assistance office, a post who comprehensively oversees personnel affairs, general affairs, labor management relations, and management innovation, taking full charge of LSIS’ internal management. He also contributed to early adoption of a new organizational culture at the company.
