■ An opportunity to review the business performance and mentoring activities of the last 8 months
Seoul, Korea, August, 28th - On August 27 and 28, LS Cable & System (Chairman & CEO: Christopher Koo) held an event for sharing the outcomes of the mentoring program conducted to help new employees adapt to their jobs quickly and improve their job skills. At the event, held at the Hanbada Training Center in Cheongpyeong, Gyeonggi-do, a total of 80 or so employees, including President & CEO Jongho Son, 46 new employees and heads of business divisions, were present.
New employees had an opportunity to share the outcomes of the mentoring activities and present the key improvement projects they had been involved in for the past 6 months. The ‘plan for producing the optical units of the optical composite submarine cable,’ presented by researcher Duhyeon Kim of the Facility Technology Group, received high scores in the categories of creative problem solving, systematic diagnosis, and effective implementation plans, and was awarded first prize. A company official said, “The mentoring activities helped the new employees adapt to their jobs early on, become better able to solve problems, and gain self-confidence in what they do.”
Of special note, the employees participated in the ‘creative innovation transformer’ program in which they competed in assembling a robot kit and various other indoor activities. This gave them an opportunity to improve their problem-solving and teamwork skills through creative thinking and open communication.
Mr. Jongho Son, President & CEO of LS Cable & System delivered words of encouragement. “The new employees, who completed the mentoring program are the future leaders of LS Cable & System. I hope that all of you will play an essential role in making LG Cable & System the global No.1 cable company.”
