■ Competent local staff to be fostered as leaders
■ Talented personnel in Chinese subsidiary to visit Korea for education and cultural experience
Seoul, Korea, October 2 - LS Cable and LS Mtron together invited 30 talented employees of the Chinese subsidiary to visit Korea on October 1 - 10 to receive education and experience Korean culture.
Since 2005, LS Cable has implemented an initiative of fostering next-generation local leaders in China by hiring talented personnel. In this second-time event of its kind since last year, these chosen Chinese employees will have an opportunity to be exposed to Korean culture to better understand the country.
They will participate in lectures on LS’s mid- and long-term strategies and global business environments, among other subjects. They will have a tour of LS Cable’s Gumi Plant and LS Mtron’s Jeonju Plant. For Korean cultural experience, they will also watch Nanta Performance and visit Gyeongju and the bustling Myeong-dong district in Seoul.
In a welcoming ceremony held at LS Tower in the afternoon on October 1, Vice Chairman & CEO Christopher Koo said, “We will positively nurture not only Korean staff members but also overseas local employees as global talents and leaders if they have excellent abilities. I strongly ask all staff members to exert every effort to become world-class experts in their respective fields.”
Beginning operations in China in 1998, LS Cable is now operating six Chinese subsidiaries and about 50 workplaces where 1500 Chinese employees are working. In particular, on the LS Industrial Complex covering an area of 330,000m2 which was created in Wuxi (無錫) in 2005, the company manufactures power cable systems, automotive cables, machine cables and so on, thereby using the complex as a steppingstone for penetrating into the Chinese market and the rest of the world.
