LS Cable successfully developed non-toxic and high-retardancy cable materials using Nano technology, the first in the world. Electronic materials for electronic devices like TVs, LCD monitors and notebooks have the most complicated retardancy level.
Nano material technology applies a theory producing harder wire wall combining existing retardants to electronic materials while evening spraying non-organic materials of Nano particle sizes (the length of one side is less than 1-ten millionth (1/10,000,000)). It is well-known as high value next-generation material technology.
With the introduction of Nano technology, the high-retardancy requirement was satisfied while reducing the contents ratio of retardants by more than 30% compared to existing products. It also greatly improves the low strength of halogen-free and eco-friendly retardants. It is important that high-retardancy, eco-friendliness and machinery strength are satisfied at the same time.
Through a joint research for 2 years with the Seoul National University, LS Cable successfully developed this technology. Six patents relating to materials and production technology are now pending both domestically and overseas.
LS Cable now applies Nano technology to cables for electronic devices and automotives, telecommunications, ships, and marine cables. They also plan to aggressively attack the high-value eco-friendly cable market whose demand is rapidly increasing in advanced countries.
