LS Cable & System provides KRW 100 million for community projects of Donghae City

LS Cable & System (President & CEO Roe-hyun Myung) announced on July 2 that the company would provide KRW 100 million to Donghae City, Gangwon-do for its self-support project and domestic violence victims through the Community Chest of Korea.

Kim Hyeong-won, head of the Energy Business Division of LS C&S, Shim Gyu-eon, Mayor of Donghae City, and Kim Gyeong-soo, head of the Donghae Self-Sufficiency Center, and others attended the ceremony held at the Donghae City Hall.

LS C&S will donate vehicles for the parcel delivery service of Donghae Post Office consigned to the Donghae Self-Sufficiency Center. The self-sufficiency program is a public service to provide stable jobs for low-income families and enhance their capacity so that they can make a living on their own.

LS C&S also supports a program for children who are victims of domestic violence. As part of this program, the Gangwon Southeastern Branch of Good Neighbors is holding family camps to provide psychotherapy for families in which child abuse had occurred and to reinforce the bonds in the families.

LS C&S also provided KRW 100 million to Sejong City for its Food Pack Project last April to help overcome COVID-19. The domestic business sites of LS C&S are continuously conducting activities for mutual prosperity in local communities.

A company official said, “we will make continued efforts to fulfill our social responsibilities as a corporate citizen by helping to create jobs in local communities and supporting the underprivileged in society.”
